A Resource Worker at FACS-Elgin has to stay connected to most departments at the Agency.

The role incorporates many different aspects of child welfare - everything from finding placements for children to pre-service training for community members who want to become foster or foster-to-adopt parents.

Resource Workers play a large role in the fostering program, by completing home study’s for potential foster and foster-to-adopt parents and then visiting and monitoring existing homes.

The primary focus is foster parents, which brings both challenges and rewards.
